In 2011, a 4.75 kW capacity grid-connected solar panel awning system that was installed on the church building, viewable from Green Grove Drive on the south and east sides of the building. The panels are mounted at a fixed tilt angle of 67.5 degrees and the solar array has an azimuth of 143 degrees.

This project was awarded a grant in the amount of $12,500 from the City of St. Albert’s Environmental Initiatives Grant Program. The balance of the funds needed to support the design and installation of the system was received through a special “Environmental Awareness” donation from the estate of a long-time member of the congregation. The church dedicated the Solar Electrical System to the memory of Phyllis Bocock at its Thanksgiving Service on October 9th, 2011.
